• Summer Birding Programs
June 15, 29; July 13, 20; August 10, 24 each from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at
River Valley Wetland. Join summer naturalist intern Kelsey Graham
for a summer filled with birding! Before each program we will meet in
the parking lot of the Wetland and walk to the bird blind. All ages are
welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration
is recommended; we have a limited supply of binoculars.
• July 1 and 2 my summer naturalist intern will be
having a program from 9:30 – 11:00 on frogs, toads, and tadpoles at
Bennett Pond
• July 15, 16, and 17th from 10 – 11:00 am
we have Nature Days at Bennett City Park for kids of all ages and
there is no cost
• July 15, 16, and 17th from 2:00 – 3:00 pm
we have Nature Days at Mechanicsville City Park for kids of all ages
and there is no cost
• July 18 and 19th we have Nature Camp at
Bennett Pond from 10:00 am – 11:30 am for kids of all ages and the
cost is $5
• July 22, 23, and 24th we have Nature
Camp at Cedar Valley Park from 10:00 – 11:00 am for kids ages 6 – 9
and the cost is $5
• July 25 and 26 we have Nature Days at Tipton City
Park from 10:00 – 11:00 am for kids of all ages and there is no cost
• August 5, 6, 7, and 8th we have Nature
Camp for kids ages 10 – 13 at various conservation areas in the
county and the cost is $15 (includes a free t-shirt) and it is from 10:00
– 11:30 and the 8th it is from 10 until noon. We take the kids
canoeing one day at Bennett Pond, teach them how to shoot a
compound bow, and the last day we take them canoeing down the
river if the conditions permit. We also grill-out on the last day of
camp.

NATURE TAILS
Located at the Cedar County Conservation Board
Office (713 E. South Street, Tipton)
REGISTRATION REQUIRED. The program is for ages
3 - 6 and focus on introducing your kids to the
natural environment. A game, craft, and other
activities will teach your child about the wonders
of nature in a fun, relaxed setting. Attend one or
both days. An adult MUST accompany a child (or
children) and WATCH them. You can bring younger
children, but the program is focusing on the 3+ age
group.
Since we will no longer be providing snacks, this
program in now FREE!!!!!
We will be doing Nature Tails in September. Sorry,
our summer schedule is crammed!
